Dear Families of Allen High School Students,
In an effort to help prevent the spread of the flu, we urge school families to keep sick children at home and do not send them to school.
Children and adults who stay home when they are sick help stop the spread of the flu and helps sick children get well. Children and adults who are sick need to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of non-caffeinated fluids.
We ask that you call the school when your child is staying home with a fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, vomiting or diarrhea. Please do not send your child back to school until his/her fever is gone for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-lowering medications.
To help prevent the spread of flu viruses:
· Avoid close contact with people who are sick
· Cough or sneeze into the bend of the elbow/sleeve area or a tissue
· Wash hands often with soap and warm water
· Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
· Avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth, which can spread germs
